In Loving Memory

"BUSEY"
4/1/94 - 4/12/09

Ode to BUSEY By: Dr. Kim Livezey

Busey is the guardian

Protector of the store.

He keeps an eye on every one

as they come thru the door.

He watches over Carrie

In her little cubby space.

She orders things on Mondays

to organize this place.

He greets Len every morning

before the sun does rise.

Poor len as to give him baths

and treats his ears and eyes.

Up front he pesters Spencer

and gets in Nancy's way.

He lounges on the counter

and begs for treats all day.

He truly acts like Garfield

Indifferent to us all

But when I'm all alone down here

his true heart comes to call.

To Angie & Crystal & Jen

& Hannah & don't forget Len!

He knows we have the very bestest

nursing staff around.

Your compassion & respect & love

are even shown to hounds.

Remember wnen a greyhound

wanted "Busey Bits" for dinner?

His surgery was a tough one

but he pulled though A WINNER!

He's given blood to countless cats

(Reluctantly, he thought)

He's even been the guinea pig

for people giving shots.

He's not afraid of dogs...

or cats or kids or sounds.

He really is the perfect cat

for us to have around.

He's been here 13 years 4 months

one week and a day or two.

We've had a great run, Busey,

Here's to 13 more with you!

From your #1 fan

No DescriptionThe Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a wood, at the foot of a hill is a lush,
green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
when their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over on day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
for here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
their bodies healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart back front and back,
then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
the time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
and then, side-by-side, they cross over...together.
